Join me for the Safari Heat hosted blog hop from August 11th-16th. Each author will contribute 30 dollars to participate. Twenty dollars goes towards a grand prize and ten goes towards SF organizing the hop. Prizes depend on how many authors we get. If we get at least ten authors we will giveaway a Kindle Fire HD. About two months ago I was cruising around the web, browsing really, and found myself on the homepage of the Rochester Jazz Festival. I’ve spent a lot of time in Rochester, NY, although I don’t live there. I have relatives there and spent a few years working for a University there. But I had never been to the Jazz Festival. I’ve needed a boost, some motivation, some oomph. In spite of it being summer, my work schedule has been overly full and I’ve neglected my blog, my Facebook posts and my marketing in general. So this weekend I’m going to Camp!  Well, not a real, sleep-over camp, but an online camp. And I’m looking forward to getting my marketing mojo back. Do you write with music in the background? Or do you need it to be completely quiet? Or, like me, do you select music according to what you are writing? I can rarely write with music in the background that has lyrics – I sing the words in my head and can’t write.So I listen to instrumentals (doesn’t that sound like something your parents would listen to, or elevator music?) When I wrote You Belong To Me, I was in a smooth jazz mood. One of my favorite smooth jazz musicians is Rick Braun. And this song has become associated in my mind with Colin, the hero in the book….
