I’d like to welcome author Wendi Sotis, author of the newly released, The Gypsy Blessing: I am what one might call an “accidental author.” Oh, don’t get me wrong, growing up, my three biggest dreams were to someday be happily married, become a mother, and see my name in the card catalog at my beloved local library. (I’m dating myself, eh?) As a child, I was plagued with horrible nightmares, and I would make up stories to surround them in order to give them happy endings. Bashful about my writing, I never showed it to anyone. Eventually, the usual stuff happened—college, job, marriage (a happy one, just as I hoped J,)…

I’d like to welcome Dori Hartley to my blog today. I read her book, Angels and Echoes about a year ago on Kindle, and I couldn’t put it down. Now she’s published on Createspace and you can get a copy here. Angels And Echoes – by Dori Hartley When I first wrote Angels and Echoes in 2011, I had visions of film rights, great actors and directors beating down doors to get at the screenplay and a book tour that had me too busy to accept Oprah’s non-stop begging. Oh how they all wanted my book, my story – in my head, I was the new Chuck Palahniuk, the Harlan…

I’m proud to host a guest writer on my blog today.  Mark Yost is my brother and has written the second in his “Nick Materra” series. Write What You Know About By Mark Yost For 20 years I thought I had a novel in me. I just didn’t know what it was. I knew that I wanted to write a thriller, but the secret-agent genre had basically been mastered by John le Carre and Tom Clancy. Having covered the Pentagon for The Wall Street Journal, I knew that I wanted the main character to have some sort of military background. Fast forward 10 years, through the transition from full-time writer…

Since committing to Nanowrimo, I’ve had good days and bad days. And some days when i just forgot to update my Nanowrimo numbers. But I have to say that this is the first time I’ve stuck to writing “something” every single day for 10 days in a row….ever. And I’m having a good time with it. At first, I thought I couldn’t possibly write without editing. I can’t leave typos or misspelled words, but I’m not going back and fixing, editing, putzing with dialogue or sentence structure. I’m just writing, getting it all out and down on paper. And the truth is, although it’s not great, it’s pretty good. Good…
